I say a tad bit because faith encompasses much more than what I can fit here on this page. I do not claim to know everything there is to know about faith but here is a little of what I do know. It’s specific, it’s unique, it’s big, its firm when you step out on it, it’s a safety net when you feel like you are falling and can’t catch hold to anything, at times you need only small amounts to move, shift or change the things in front of you, it grows, and it evolves.
We live in a time that often requests that we have all of the information before making a "sound" decision but sometimes faith doesn’t quite work like that. Faith is trusting in God and believing in what He said He would do; and that sometimes involves not having all of the information we may believe to be necessary at “decision time”.
This was something that I had to learn as well.
God gives us just enough for where we are, he is crafty in that manner. Not because he can’t give us everything all at once, but because he knows us (his children) and being all the way in the know would be too much for us to handle. I believe that the Holy spirit; with respect to situations and circumstances, supplies us with the end result or the process.
For example: The Holy Spirit may tell you that you got the job you applied for (the end result), or He may tell you to start speaking up more, taking initiative on projects, or submit your work in a manner that highlights you (the process) unbeknownst to you there is a position for promotion on the horizon. No matter which one he gives we know that when it comes from God:
1. We can trust it even if we don’t understand it 2. There is safety in his provisions 3. There is guidance in his instructions Let faith be the foundation of everything you do, overriding feelings, emotions, and sight. Align what you are up against with that of a posture of faith.
Some Faith Scriptures: Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Matthew 17:20 (NIV) “He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Mark 11: 22 (NKJV) “So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.”
John 7:38 (AMP) “He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.’”
John 11:40 (NLT) “Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?”
1 Corinthians 2:5 (ESV) “so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men[a] but in the power of God.”
1 Corinthians 16:13 (NLT) “Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Romans 10:17 (NKJV) “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Ephesians 2:8 (AMP)
“For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;”
